Visiting Scholar (Research Intern), The Robotics Institute, CMU, Pittsburgh, PA
August 2023 - current, full-timeConducting an artificial intelligence research project in Prof. Fernando De La Torre’s lab in the Robotics Institute. Led all aspects of experiments with 30 subjects using AR glasses to create a machine-learning multimodal model predicting dyadic conversational engagement. Annotated engagement labels and coded program to transcribe diarized segments of the audio and used ChatGPT API to predict engagement. Conducted a thorough literature review in AI, AR, and neuroscience, and will submit a paper to the IEEE ICME conference in December 2023.
Research Intern, McGovern Institute of Brain Research, MIT, Cambridge, MA
June 2023 - August 2023 full-timeConducted a research project in Prof. John Gabrieli’s lab to identify emotional, cognitive, and neural factors that predict the future development of ADHD. Certified to assist in fMRI scans, and conducted behavioral data analysis to detect fluctuations in attention. Took 15 online courses on data analysis in R and used a computing cluster to run neuroimaging analyses.
Lead App Engineer, YokyWorks Foundation, Seattle, WA
May 2020 - current part-time; June 2022 - August 2022 full-timeLed design, coding, and testing of an app that works for both intervention of reading challenges in K-2nd grade and remediation of dyslexia for older children. The app is used by all students at the foundation as well as deployed in several schools including a socioeconomically challenged school in Massachusetts. Worked with specialists to create business requirements and trained teachers to use the app. Assigned tasks to and managed other app engineers. Spent over 400 volunteer hours while in high school, and additional 400 volunteer hours since graduation. Published and presented a poster on the impact of the app in one community center at the 2023 International Dyslexia Association Conference in October.
Math & Reading Tutor, YokyWorks Foundation, Seattle, WA
June 2021 - August 2021Tutored 1:1 with children (7 to 13 years old) with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism who fell behind in school during the pandemic. Created individualized math and reading curriculums for each child. Math subjects included basic arithmetic, fractions, and algebra. Spent 120 volunteer hours.

2019 - 2023Played #1, 2, and 3 singles positions for Gunn High School Varsity Tennis Team all 4 years. Co-captain Sophomore year. Captain Senior year. Won high school team league championship while maintaining an undefeated record junior year. Organized team bonding activities, senior night, away game rides, and snacks.

September 2021 - May 2023Organized, created, and taught lessons on industry trends and modern topics such as vaccination and 3D organ printing. Invited guest lecturers to speak about developments. Managed the club's funds.
Competitive Tennis
2015 - 2022Competitive training with Eagle Fustar (CA), IMG (FL), and No Quit (NV) tennis academies for 25 hours a week. 40+ hours a week during the summer. Played national-level tournaments. Achieved top 30 ranking in the state and top 300 in the nation in junior tennis.

Took five Udacity courses on Android app development including UI, networking, and data storage. Responsible for back-end server code.
